From Stuck to Rooted

Hey there! Let me tell you a little story about growth. Both the messy, awkward kind and the beautiful, “look how far I’ve come” kind.

Once upon a time, life wasn’t exactly throwing me roses. Higher education? Not in the cards. Career opportunities? Slim to none. I was stuck in a place where the future seemed like it had already been decided for me. Sound familiar? But here’s the thing about being stuck, it plants the seed for something bigger. Through late nights, juggling two jobs, and a whole lot of determination (and maybe a few tears), I earned my teaching degree. That was just the beginning. I taught abroad, met my wonderful husband, and started building a life I’d only dreamed of.

Fast forward to 2020 (cue ominous music), COVID-19 turned everything upside down. Our finances crumbled, and I felt that old familiar “trapped” feeling creeping back in. Then, I met my life coach. That experience was a game-changer. With their guidance, I made one of the toughest decisions of my life, to leave South Africa and teach abroad again and solo this time.

It wasn’t easy, but it was the start of something incredible. That journey became the heartbeat of Rooted, where I now help others break free from feeling stuck and grow into the life they’ve always wanted.
